Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 clove Garlic halved
  • 1 cup Dry White Wine
  • 8 oz Gruyere Cheese shredded
  • 8 oz Emmental Cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Kirsch optional
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • to taste Nutmeg freshly grated

Instructions 

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic halves, then discard the garlic.
  2. Pour the wine into the pot and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Gradually add the cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the kirsch, then stir into the cheese mixture.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste.
  7. Keep the fondue warm over low heat and serve with bread cubes or vegetables.
