Main Ingredients
- 2 cups sliced squash
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg.
2. In another bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, and black pepper.
3. Dip the squash slices into the buttermilk mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
4. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
5. Fry the squash slices until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
6. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
