  • 8 oz dried beef
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 4 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices bread, toasted

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the dried beef under cold water to remove excess salt. Pat dry and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in the flour to make a roux. Cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add the beef and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the creamed beef over toasted bread.
