Ingredients

  • 2 cups masa harina
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, salt, and warm water. Mix until dough forms.
  2. Divide dough into 8 equal pieces and shape into balls. Flatten each ball into a thick disk.
  3. Heat oil in a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook gorditas for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Slice open and fill with your favorite ingredients.
