Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 Ham bone with some meat on it
  • 2 cups Carrots chopped
  • 2 cups Celery chopped
  • 1 cup Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 8 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 cups Potatoes diced
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme dried
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper or to taste

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, add the ham bone, carrots, celery, onion, and garlic.
  2. 2. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  3. 3. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1.5 hours.
  4. 4. Add the potatoes, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
  5. 5. Remove the ham bone, let it cool, and pick off any remaining meat. Add the meat back to the soup.
  6. 6. Serve hot and enjoy!
