Lentil Ham Soup Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup lentils rinsed and drained
- 1 cup ham diced
- 1 large onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups carrots sliced
- 2 stalks celery sliced
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon thyme dried
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper ground
1. In a large pot, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
2. Add the carrots and celery, and cook for another 5 minutes.
3. Stir in the lentils, ham, chicken broth, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
4. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the lentils are tender.
5. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
