Ingredients 

Macaron Shells

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 units egg whites room temperature
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites until the batter flows like lava.
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Let the piped macarons sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to form a skin.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes. Let cool completely before removing from the baking sheet.
