Mexican Ceviche Recipe

Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Fresh fish (tilapia, sea bass, or shrimp) cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup Lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 Red onion finely chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes diced
  • 1 Cucumber peeled, seeded, and diced
  • 1 Jalapeño seeded and finely chopped
  • ¼ cup Cilantro chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper freshly ground

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the fish and lime juice. Make sure the fish is fully submerged in the lime juice. Cover and refrigerate for about 15 minutes, or until the fish turns opaque.
  2. 2. While the fish is marinating, prepare the vegetables. Finely chop the red onion, dice the tomatoes and cucumber, seed and finely chop the jalapeño, and chop the cilantro.
  3. 3. Once the fish is ready, drain off most of the lime juice, leaving just a little to keep the fish moist.
  4. 4. Add the chopped vegetables and cilantro to the bowl with the fish. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix everything together gently.
  5. 5. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or on tostadas. Enjoy!
