Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 8 slices Rye Bread
  • 8 slices Swiss Cheese
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Butter

Special Sauce

  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dill Pickle Relish
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

Instructions

  1. 1. Mix all the special sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  2. 2. Form the ground beef into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. 3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. 4. In the same skillet, cook the patties until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  5. 5. Melt the remaining butter in the skillet. Place 4 slices of rye bread in the skillet, top each with a slice of Swiss cheese, a patty, caramelized onions, a dollop of special sauce, another slice of cheese, and another slice of bread.
  6. 6. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, flipping once, about 2-3 minutes per side.
