Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 3 green plantains peeled and cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • to taste salt

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Fry the plantain slices until golden, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. 3. Remove the plantains and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  4. 4. Flatten each fried plantain slice using the bottom of a glass or a tostonera.
  5. 5. Fry the flattened plantains again until crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. 6. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
