Instructions
1. Preheat your griddle or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into loose balls.
3. Place the beef balls onto the hot griddle or skillet and smash them flat with a spatula.
4. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy, then flip and add cheese slices on top.
6. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
7. Toast the burger buns on the griddle or skillet until golden brown.
8. Assemble the burgers and serve immediately.
