Ingredients 

Sopes

  • 2 cups masa harina
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 0.5 cup crumbled queso fresco
  • 0.5 cup salsa
  • 0.5 cup sour cream

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a thick disk.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each disk for about 2-3 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  4. Remove from skillet and let cool slightly. Pinch the edges to form a border.
  5. Spread refried beans on each sope. Top with lettuce, queso fresco, salsa, and sour cream.
